Position summary:

The Literacy Connects Graphic Design and Video Assistant is responsible for helping to create digital and physical designs within the Literacy Connects brand, including work for the general organization as well as individual programs. The Assistant will also help to film and produce videos for the organization and programs, as well as assist colleagues within programs with their video needs. This position may also help with website content.



  • Help develop dynamic digital and printed designs, including reports, appeals, newsletters, fliers, and graphics for social media and email.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the organization to create promotional materials for programs and opportunities.
  • Create and produce short videos.
  • Assist colleagues with their video needs.
  • Help to develop a system to tag and store videos.
  • May help produce content for website.



  • Understanding of organization's mission and values
  • Dependable with strong time management and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with basic video (filming, editing/production)
  • Must work well in a collaborative, joyful, team environment


Educational requirements: High school equivalency or higher required; background in graphic design and video production


Typical schedule: Literacy Connects is open 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday. This position is planned to be hybrid remote/in-person. Occasional weekend hours with advanced notice.
