Options in Community Living is a supported living agency for people with developmental disabilities. Founded in 1981, Options mission is to support people with developmental disabilities to live full lives as members of our community. Options strives to provide the assistance needed to help people live the life they choose. We are limited by available funding and our creativity. Options currently supports 104 individuals ranging in age from 20 to 84.
A Community Builder assists in forming meaningful relationships between people with developmental disabilities and community members. Historically, many people with disabilities have been excluded from community life through placement in institutions or other means of segregation. Options' mission is to assist people to become active community members. Creating opportunities for our community to include people with disabilities decreases isolation and enriches community life for all.
Community Builders work directly with Options staff to: raise public awareness about the contributions and gifts of people with disabilities; develop and support relationships between people with disabilities and community members and places; and identify the interests, talents and aspirations of people supported by Options.
