The Projects Assistant is an integral part of the ongoing success of this primarily volunteer-run program. While much of the work can be done Monday-Friday, there will be some weekend activities seasonally. Major responsibilities of the position:
Work on the Store floor, running the cash register, opening/closing the store, handling cash, accepting donations, organizing merchandise. Help with promotion and marketing of materials at the Store. Organize reports with the Store Manager and other tasks as needed.
Our Habitat chapter is unique in that we build adobe homes with a solar trombe wall. Work with Construction Supervisor 1-3 days per week as needed for various construction tasks. Patience and ability to follow instructions are more important than construction skills.
Coordinating can collections
Money box collection and management
Collecting and shipping Inkjet cartridges for recycling
The position has much variety and requires the ability to organize and prioritize tasks. Depending on the skills and interest of the volunteer, as well as the needs/budget of the Habitat chapter in a given year, this position may be set up as a part-time placement in collaboration with another part-time placement site.

- Construction experience a plus, but not required
- Bi-lingual Spanish and/or experience with Hispano cultures a plus
