Under the general direction of the Clinical Director, the Volunteer Nurse has shift authority, accountability, and responsibility for quality patient care.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
  • Directly supervise nursing assistants
  • Provide wound care, draw labs, interpret vital signs, write referrals to specialists, handle patient medications and provide ongoing patient education

*BSN preferred. Must obtain DC nursing license and BLS certification prior to start date.

The nurses and HRC assistants work together to provide physical, emotional, and spiritual care to patients in our 34-bed medical facility. Applicants must be willing to serve as a team to provide quality patient care. Strong communication skills, the ability to stay organized in a fast-paced setting, and a heart to serve are integral to both roles.
