Organization Overview: Girls on the Run of the Bay Area is a nonprofit, youth development program serving girls ages 8 - 13 years old in 5 Bay Area counties. Our mission is to build confident, healthy girls. Girls on the Run of the Bay Area is a small organization of flexible, efficient multi-taskers.
 

Position Summary: The person in this role reports directly to the Development and Operations Coordinator (D&OC) and collaborates frequently with other program and development staff. This is a unique opportunity to learn multiple skills in key functions including Marketing and Operations. If willing to learn, experiment and adopts a 'can do' attitude this person will thrive: we are small and delegate to every person in the office to do their best, and collaborate with the team. They will play a critical role in achieving our goal of serving more girls year-over-year.


Marketing

  • Work with ED and D&OC to develop a marketing strategy for campaigns that includes emails, infographics, blogs, and social media.
  • Create Marketing Campaigns (including, but not limited to program/coach recruitment, year-end giving, and special events).
  • Manage Social Media Platforms for Girls on the Run of the Bay Area – Twitter, Instagram, FB
  • Support GOTRBA website management
  • Develop content for blog posts as needed
  • Learn AdWords, Website platform, Illustrator, InDesign and other platforms as needed. Guidance and supervision will be provided by the team


Graphics and Digital Media

  • Help design Girls on the Run apparel
  • Capture photo and video at GOTR events
  • Learn how to edit videos for use in digital assets


Operations & Development

  • Support day-to-day operations of the office including ordering of supplies, postage, furniture etc.
  • Provide assistance on development projects as needed

  • An initiative-taker, you are always looking for ways to improve Girls on the Run
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to manage your time well to meet important deadlines
  • You enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Proficiency in Google Applications (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Doc) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • You love the mission of Girls on the Run and share a passion about issues surrounding empowerment, self-esteem, and wellness


"Nice-to-Have" Experience:

  • Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator experience
  • Ability to lift 20-35 lbs – we're a small office and staff pitch in when shipments arrive
