Objective:

Oversees and ensures a fair and organized system for food distribution.  Serves as liaison for all pantry clients. Supervises all aspects of procurement, storage and distribution of goods. Primarily works out of the Hub location (5151 N. Ravenswood Ave) but will also work out of our Sheridan location (3945 N. Sheridan) on occasion.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Within a culture of great respect for our clients, distribute food according to Pantry, state, and federal guidelines.

2. Collect and store food according to Pantry, state, and federal guidelines.

3. In partnership with Food Acquisition Specialists, manage ongoing food donor relationships.

4. Manage inventory and relationships with The Greater Chicago Food Depository, U.S.D.A., F.E.M.A and other partners.

5. Maintain Pantry site sanitation that meets or exceeds government and monitoring agencies' standards.

6. Train and supervise volunteers to assist with food distribution.

7. Produce necessary reports required by supervisor, donors, and government agencies.

8. Create and track benchmarks of the program's success, and make recommendations for improvement.

9. Act as an ambassador for the mission of Lakeview Pantry to the larger community.

10. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. College degree strongly preferred but will consider candidates with strong work history and High School Diploma.

2. 2-5 years' experience in a social services environment.

3. Familiarity with issues that are common among the population served including, but not limited to, homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, mental and physical disability, and the elderly.

4. Requires valid driver's license and be ability to drive a van.

5. Ability to obtain and maintain food service sanitation certification in accordance with municipal and state laws.

6. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.

7. Ability to use and maintain Salesforce client database.

8. Ability to handle an occasional volatile situation calmly, professionally and respectfully. Experience in Non-violent Crisis Intervention techniques is preferred.

9. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

10. Proven ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

11. An understanding of, and belief in, the importance of food security for everyone.

12. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights.
