The Shalom Project

 

 

The health case manager will assist in the provision of strengths-based intensive case management to special population clients requiring extended services beyond and, in certain cases, within the initial 90 days of R&P resettlement period. In addition, the health case manager will conduct consistent outreach and education among community healthcare providers to supplement existing services that do not adequately address special population clients’ needs.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in health care, social work, or related field. Knowledge of refugee language preferred.
  • Experience: Previous work experience and interest in refugee services is preferred. Ability to provide culturally-sensitive counseling and case management is required.
  • Other skills: Superior written and verbal communication skills are required. The successful candidate must be computer literate, with proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word and Access) and Internet applications. Strong organizational and time management skills are required.
  • Will be required to transport clients using own vehicle (mileage to be reimbursed). Clean driving record is required.

The Shalom ProjectThe Shalom Project<p>The Shalom Project is a one year voluntary service experience for recent college graduates. Participants live together in a house in Lancaster city, serve the community through full-time, professional internships, and participate in seminars focused on Christian spiritual formation and personal growth. We cover all of our participants’ living expenses, including housing, transportation, and food.</p><p>Our goal is that participants experience God’s shalom (wholeness, peace, well-being) and extend shalom in the Lancaster community during their year with us. </p><p>Our guiding values, including social justice, peace, lived faith, and community, are rooted in Anabaptist Christianity, but we welcome any participant who desires to learn, grow, and seek wholeness and well-being for themselves and others.</p>
